Libya Again Deports 150 Nigerians

The Libyan authorities Monday deported 150 Nigerians from Tripoli. They arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) at around 5pm.
The deporteesn according to Nigeria Immigration Service sources, said that they voluntarily returned to the country on their own accord but it is recorded that some of them had tried to make their way to Europe and the United States

‘New Telegraph’ learnt that the deportees arrived on board a Libyan Airline aircraft, an Airbus A330-200 with registration number 5A-LAT.
As at the time of filling this report, the breakdown of the deportees was yet to be given by security officials at the Lagos airport.
The latest deportation exercise brings to 390 the number of Nigerians that have been deported in two months by Libya.
In August this year, 240 Nigerians stranded in Libya were repatriated back to the country. There are indications that the number could hit 1000 before the end of the year owing to the fact that over 800 Nigerians are said to be languishing in Libyan jails awaiting deportation.
In August, the International Organisation for Migration facilitated the repatriation of 240 Nigerian returnees from Libya.
