Peace Corps Of Nigeria Sign MOU On The Chibok Girls Endowment Fund With ASEI, Others - Photos

The National Commandant, #PeaceCorpsofNigeria, Amb. (Dr) Dickson A.O. Akoh led the Members, Board of Trustees and National Executive Council yesterday 17th October, 2016, at the PCN Headquarters, Gwarinpa, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative (ASEI) and the Medical Laboratory Science Council.

The ASEI led by its President, Hajiya Hadiza Bello Buhari and in company of the Acting Registrar/CEO Medical Laboratory Science Council, Dr Erhabor Tosan; the Vice President ASEI/Federal Comm., National Population Commission and the National Secretary Mr Onwuka Don Uche, in a planned visit, arrived the PCN Headquarters today for the official inauguration and signing of MOU on the Chibok Girls Endowment Fund. This is a follow up on an already established relationship between both organizations spanning years.

The colorful event focused on congratulating the spirited efforts of the Federal Government over the release of twenty-one of the abducted girls thus passing a clear signal that His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari led Administration is ever prepared to secure lives and properties of Nigerians and foreigners alike.

While eulogizing the sacrificial efforts of the Nigerian Security Forces over the release, it became apparent that the needs of these girls must be catered for. This Aide and Humanitarian Support gesture warranted the coming together of Peace Corps of Nigeria and the Africa Support and Empowerment Initiative to set up an Endowment Fund with a view to joining already existing organizations with the human face to restore hope to these girls. It was on this basis that the Peace Corps of Nigeria through her members nationwide contributed a paltry sum of Three Million, Five Hundred Thousand naira (N3,500,000) only to be paid into the Chibok Girls Endowment Account. With all hands on deck, the released #Chibokgirls will again, fit into our society.
