Hoodlums Attack Couple In Abaji Community

A middle aged man, Dogo Yanu, and his wife were attacked by suspected hoodlums in the early hours of yesterday at Kuloho village, near Yaba in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

A resident of the area, who gave his name as Danlami, said the incident happened at about 2:12 a.m. after some men suspected to be hoodlums invaded the community with cutlasses and axes to attack the couple.

He said the suspects, who were many broke the door of the victims’ room and inflicted injuries on them before taking away some undisclosed sums of money and other valuable items in the house.

He said the suspected hoodlums also destroyed some property inside the house, before fleeing.

He said the man and his wife were later rescued by some neighbours and taken to the General Hospital in Abaji.

“They used a cutlass and axes to inflict injuries on both the man and his wife then they took away some money and escaped,” he said.

When contacted, the Abaji Divisional Police Officer (DPO), CSP David Kolo, confirmed the incident.

“My men at Yaba police outpost sent a message that some hoodlums attacked a man and his wife. I will send my men to the hospital to hear from the man in order to know the true position of the incident,” he said.
