18-Year-Old Boy Lands In Court Over Theft Of N100,000 Electricity Cables
An 18-year-old resident of Lagos, Sodiq Tunde, has been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court, Lagos for stealing electricity cables worth N100,000 in Isheri area of the state.
According to the prosecutor, Sgt. DonforPeresi, Tunde was caught around 5pm on April 14, while stealing the cables which are property of the Ikeja Electric on Alfred Ogunyemi Street, Olowora, Lagos.
He was immediately handed over to the police.
Peresi said the offence is punishable under Section 281 (1) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos, 2011.
Tunde pleaded not guilty to the charge and was admitted to bail in the sum of N100,000 by Magistrate O. A. Layinka. He was ordered to present two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till May 15, 2017 while he has been remanded at the Kirikiri Prison till he is able to perfect his bail conditions.
