Simi tells Vina 'What if.... ?'
Vina she says unless Adze wants to die.
Simi asks if she hasn't heard about guys who go for last rounds with their side chics.
Vina tells her to just stop.
Vina's phone rings and she tells Simi that she can see her boo is on the way.
She answers the call and her facial expression changes to one of horror.
Mudi goes to Simi to ask where her guy is.
Simi is trying to call Billz on her phone and getting frantic.
Vina turns around slowly.
Oye and Tes give her a questioning look.
She goes to Simi and gives her a hug.
Everyone asks what's wrong.
Vina says 'Billz is dead'.
Simi screams and runs out of the apartment.
Vina goes after her.
Mummy goes 'Yee Billz!'
Tes stands up with difficulty and goes after Vina and Simi.
At the police station, Tintitin tells Adze what happened to Billz wasn't his (Adze's) fault.
Adze sits staring into space with a blank expression on his face.
Linda walks in and gives Adze her condolence, saying she knows Billz was his friend but what was he doing at the scene of the crime?
Adze maintains his expression, not turning to look at her.
Linda calls Tintin aside and says he shot the assailant.
He admits he did.
She asks if he has a licence to carry firearms.
Tintin brings out a copy of his license and gives it to her.
She asks how he got it.
He says his boss arranged it.
She asks if his boss is Mr. Tsenugo.
He answers in the affirmative.
She asks him to tell her what happened.
He tells her exactly what happened.
She asks why he shot to kill and not to wound.
Tintin says his job is to eliminate the risk and his boss was at risk, so he had to eliminate the source of the risk.
Linda asks what other kinds of elimination he has done for his boss, Mr. Tsenugo senior.
Tintin goes mute.
Simi is sitting on a lounger outside Bem's house, crying.
Mudi is consoling her.
Vina joins them and Mudi leaves.
Vina sees an engagement ring on Simi's finger and asks if Billz proposed
Simi says he did, they were going to announce it at the party and she's had it in her pocket since morning.
She cries harder, asking why.
Vina consoles her.
Adze and Tintin are now in Linda's office.
Adze is sitting on a chair with the same expression he had before.
Tintin is standing behind him.
Linda tells Adze to say something.
Bem and Wunmi arrive.
They both focus on Adze.
Bem asks him if he's okay.
No response.
Linda says he has refused to say anything.
Bem says it's because he just saw his best friend get killed and almost got killed too.
Wunmi asks if they can take him home.
Linda says they can take him home but Tintin would have to give a written statement.
Tintin follows Wunmi out.
Benson rushes in shouting 'Where is he!?'
He sees Adze and says 'You did this! You killed him. I have talked to him severally to stay away from you but no... You did this!'
Adze remains on the seat, staring into space.
Benson grabs Adze by the neck but Bem pushes him off.
Benson lands on the table with his back.
Wunmi begs Bem to stop.
Ben eases his hold and Benson gets off the table.
Bem gently pushes him out of the room.
Bem and Wunmi are in the car.
Wunmi says she's really worried about Adze.
Bem says Adze wouldn't be the man he is today if it weren't for Billz.
Wunmi asks if he thinks Prime did it.
Bem says it was Prime but the bullet was meant for Adze.
Wunmi asks how he knows.
Bem says Prime kept telling him that something was going to happen to make Bem pledge his allegiance to him.
Wunmi asks what he would do now.
Benson is in the clubhouse, crying and asking himself what he has done.
Bem enters with a gun and says those who live in glass houses do not throw stones.
Benson stands up.
Bem says he thought they had an agreement.
He says You see what fear has made you do? You have a hand in the death of someone that calls you father.'
Benson says it wasn't his intention.
Bem says 'I know, your intention was to cause the death of someone that calls me father.
Benson says Prime put so much pressure on him.
Bem says Benson should have come to him.
Benson weeps and says he's sorry.
Bem says he is not but he would be.
He hits him on the head with the gun.
Benson screams and holds his head.
He pleads with Bem.
Bem says he sees Benson has sent his daughter back to the states knowing what he wanted to do.
He asks if she still lives in the studio apartment 40 meters from her school.
Benson pleads some more.
Bem asks if Prime ordered the hit.
Benson says he did.
Bem says so Benson and Folahan provided the info.
Benson confirms.
Bem says he would let him live long enough to bury his nephew but after that, Benson will do exactly as he says.
Benson fearfully agrees.
Adze is back in his apartment, sitting on the floor with just his singlet and trousers.
The bloodstained shirt is off.
He is staring at a photo of he and Billz on his phone.
Vina is sitting on the couch near him.
Oye and Tes sit on the other couch.
Tes says there are no words.
Oye says she wishes there was something they could say.
Adze keeps staring at the photo, his blank expression is slowly turning to one of grief.
Tes says it's late and he has to make sure Voltron gets Oye home but he would be right back.
Adze turns to him and nods.
Oye tells Vina to be strong for him.
Tes and Oye leave.
Vina says she's so sorry, she knows Billz meant a lot to him and she wishes she could change things.
She tells him she loves him.
The phone drops from Adze's hands.
He turns to bury his face in her lap as he weeps.
Vina holds him and says they can postpone the wedding until after the burial and they will name their first son after him.
2 weeks later.
It's the day of the funeral.
Adze is alone in his apartment, dressed in all black, looking at a photo of Billz on his phone.
He says 'You're still dead hun?
We put you in the ground today Bruv and I'll never get to see your face again but I promise you on the life of my unborn child that your death would not be in vain, there will be hell to pay for every single person involved.
I promise you.
Goodbye Bruv.'
He goes outside to join Tes and Vina.
They all get into the car and head to the funeral.
2 weeks later.
Vina is fitting her wedding reception dress at HOT.
Cynthia tells Simi to help with the adjustment.
Vina asks Simi if she's okay.
Simi says she's fine and they need to focus on Vina's happiness.
Sai enters and gathers the entire staff.
He says he's leaving HOT, it's been a privilege to work with such talented people, he will miss them all and hopefully they will meet again under different circumstances.
Cynthia says she didn't see it coming.
Adura says she will miss him very much.
He says he would miss her too
He shakes hands with Sule and Manu.
Adze enters and Vina says he's not supposed to see the bride's dress.
He says he thought it was just a reception dress.
She says she will have to make another one.
Adze whispers in her ear and she's surprised.
Sai says he has another announcement to make, effective today, Vina and Adze are in charge of HOT, Bem wanted it to be an early wedding present.
He hands Vina the documents.
Everyone claps and congratulates them.
Adura gives Sai a hug and he shakes hands with the guys again as he walks out.
It's the night before the wedding,
Bem is having dinner with the family which consists of his sons and their women, Omowunmi and Simi
He says he wants to propose a toast before Vina leaves for her hotel, he will be leaving for a meeting out of town first thing in the morning but rest assured, he will return before the wedding.
He says family comes first to him and all of them at the table represent family to him, they are all he has left.
He continues, 'Tomorrow Adze becomes a man. Seems it was only yesterday I watched him strut around in his diapers.
Family is everything. It is worth every sacrifice, even death and you guys are all I have.
Tomorrow my son Adze becomes the head of a family that you all must be ready to defend with everything.'
He raises his glass to Vina and Adze and to a beautiful life together.
They all clink glasses.
Benson is at the police station.
He tells a policeman that he needs to see an officer.
Linda walks in and asks what he wants
Benson says he's turning himself in for murder.
Bem asks whose.
Benson says Bissong Peter, Folahan is his accomplice and he has proof.
She asks if it's the same Folahan, governor elect.
Benson says the one and the same.
Bem and Wunmi are in his living room.
He tells her it's time.
She says he sounds as if he won't be coming back.
He tells her not to worry, he will be back; he won't miss his son's wedding for anything.
He hands her a manila envelope and says they should just call it house keeping.
He gives her a kiss and leaves.
Tes is helping Adze get ready.
He says 'Today the kid becomes a man'.
Adze says he's been a man.
Tes says he should tell that to someone who didn't see him soil himself as a kid.
Adze tells him not to be gross, it's his wedding day.
Tes says Adze doesn't look as though it's his wedding day.
He tells him to cheer up and trust their dad who says he has a plan.
They turn to listen to the news on TV.
Tayo Gbadamosi announces on his show that Folahan has been declared wanted for the murder of the tech wonderboy Bissong Peter and it's unclear what would happen to his position as the governor elect.
He says the police is in pursuit of him.
Vina is getting ready with her bridesmaids and they also catch the news.
She consoles Simi who is crying and assures her that the police will get Folahan.
Folahan is in his office.
He calls his uncle, Prime to ask if he saw the news.
Prime tells him to lay low for a while and he will sort it out.
Adze calls Afefe on the phone to come with Tintin.
They arrive and he asks if they heard the news.
Afefe scoffs.
Adze asks if they knew it was going to happen since the don't look surprised.
He gets his answer from their expression.
He tells them to find Folahan, he mustn't get away.
Bem arrives Populous headquarters for the meeting.
The members are sitting in their positions while Prime is in his chair, flanked by Professor who is standing on his right.
Bem greets everyone and says he would have brought his own shadow but someone in the room sent him on an errand he would never come back from.
Prime says enough time has been wasted waiting for Bem.
SS 1 is dragged in by two guards.
He has been bruised already and very weak.
Prime says that's what disloyalty or unmitigated hunger for power gets you.
He tells Bem that he already showed his hand so he knows where his loyalty lies but he's willing to give him a second chance.
He asks if Bem's smart enough to take advantage of his magnanimity.
Bem is given a gun.
Prime orders him to shoot SS1.
Professor aims his own gun at Bem.
Ruffy, Alabama and Adura arrive the wedding venue.
The wedding is being held at the rooftop of a high rise building.
Adze is standing near the wedding arch.
Tes asks if he's okay.
Linda arrives with some officers and Riame.
Riame is in her police uniform.
She tells Wunmi she's looking for Bem.
Wunmi asks if she shouldn't be looking for Folahan.
Linda says there are men already assigned to that.
Wunmi says he will be there as he wouldn't miss his son's wedding.
Adze gets a phone call.
He tells them not to let Folahan leave their sight.
He tells Tes to hold down the fort for him.
Tes says Vina is already there.
Adze says he knows.
He leaves anyway.
Bem stands up and walks to SS1.
He shoots the ceiling and everyone docks except Prime.
He tells Prime that he actually gave him a loaded gun, what if he shot him?
Prime tells him he wouldn't be that stupid, he should take a look around him; he just failed his loyalty test spectacularly.
Bem says he's not Prime's lackey.
Professor takes the gun from Bem and pushes him out of the way.
Prime tells the room that this should be a warning to all of them, if they are going to come at him, they should come fully ready for the consequences of their actions.
Professor shoots SS1 on the head.
Prime asks Bem what they would do about him.
The music coordinator starts playing the tune of the Wedding March.
Tes signals for him to stop.
He tells the guests that the groom stepped out very briefly but will soon be around.
He laughs nervously.
Vina's parents panic.
Vina goes to Tes, barking for Adze.
Tes says he just stepped out.
She goes ballistic and threatens that if Adze leaves her at the altar she would kill herself, kill Adze and kill Tes.
Tes takes out his phone to call Adze.
He swears as Adze doesn't pick up.
A wedding planner apologises to the guests craving their indulgence to be patient as it will be sorted in no time.
Back at the headquarters, Bem addresses the Populous members, 'Is this how we got here?
Is this how you all got here? By being lily livered?
How do you answer to your children when they call you father?
You all are lost, you miserable lot!
You are lost!
You have lived so long on your knees that your soul has been amputated.'
Prime yells 'On your knees Bem Tsenugo!'
Bem gets on his knees and says 'You're lost. All of you!
You are lost.
You all sat back and did nothing while just one miserable man ruined Populous for his own selfish interest and you did nothing.
I spit on your graves!
I curse the day Populous admitted you whimpering fools!
Primes says 'Time up. Enough of the foolery! You have just signed the death warrant of your children ansd their loved ones and the unborn generation.
I will run everything you ever laid your hands on'
Bem continues to address the members, 'Not one of you, not one man can stand with me against this bully?'
The other members are seated like statues.
Bem stands up.
The security men who brought SS1 are now standing on either side of Prime.
They have their guns pointed at Bem.
Prime orders them to shoot Bem.
On cue, Professor throws a gun at Bem and the men who had their guns trained on him now point their guns at the other members.
Prime and the members look around in confusion.
Bem turns to the members and says 'I can understand why you all are afraid of him but what I don't get is why you all are not afraid of me!'
He shoots Prime twice in the chest.
Prime bleeds till his head hangs in death.
Professor walks up to Bem.
Bem says he's sorry.
Prof says he understands.
He asks if Bem would keep his promise to his family.
Bem says he would keep his word.
Professor gives Bem a gun and says 'You do it'
He takes off his glasses and stares at Bem.
Bem says 'Stay safe soldier' then shoots him in the head.
Professor drops.
Bem walks to the table and says, 'The rule book states that one can only be Prime by voting, abdication or death.
Every great society needs a Populous with its great men and women.
By death, I am Prime but I'm done here.'
Ida walks in with Sai in tow.
She stands by the table, facing the members.
Bem drops the guns on the table.
He takes off Prime's ring and gives to Ida.
He takes his own ring off and drops it on the table, then he leaves.
Ida places her hands on the books on the table and says 'From the dark shadows of the past, Populous will rise again to its original position, taking care of society through good deeds.'
She looks round the room and says
Are you with me?'
She shows off the ring she is now wearing.
Someone is working on the engine of a car that is parked blocking half the main road.
Folahan's car is passing and gets blocked by yet another car.
Folahan's car stops and he gets out.
Adze, Tintin and Afefe pull up their own car behind Folahan's.
Tintin gets out of the car and threatens Folahan's aide.
Folahan turns to see Adze.
He smiles and says 'What brings you?'
Adze bring out his gun and Folahan's smile dies.
Adze fires a shot straight into Folahan's stomach.
Folahan clutches his stomach, bleeding from the wound and from the mouth.
He falls down, dead.
At the wedding, Vina's father says she has finally succeeded in disgracing the family.
His wife begs him to take it easy.
Vina starts acting crazy.
She marches towards the cake and says if there's no wedding, there would be a party.
She tells the DJ to play the music.
She grabs the top tier of the cake and gives it to a bridesmaid.
The bridesmaid puts it back.
Vina grabs it again.
Adze appears and asks who said there would be no wedding.
Vina runs to him and as she goes off on him, he gives her a kiss that silences her.
Tes asks Adze what this was about.
Adze begs him to calm down.
Tes sees a little bloodstain on Adze's cuff and asks him what it is.
Adze says he must have cut himself shaving.
Tes takes off his sunglasses.
He gives Adze a knowing look, then shakes his hand.
He tells Adze to go and stand in his position by the arch.
He tells the guests that it's time to get the wedding started.
When everyone is seated,
Oye says she hopes Tes isn't planning on doing what Adze did on their own wedding day because it's not just the cake she would be stabbing.
Tes says he wants to live long enough to love her.
She says she wants to live to love him too.
They kiss.
Linda tells Wunmi to remind her to tell her relatives not to get involved with a Tsenugo.
She says she sent men to his house and there are men on the street so Bem can't get away.
Vina is walked down the aisle by her dad.
Wumi sneaks to the back to make a phone call to Bem.
She asks if he's alright.
She tells him the wedding just started because Adze went missing for a while.
She tells him not to come because the police are waiting for him and they have men even at his house and on the street.
She cries as she tells him goodbye.
Linda walks up to her and asks if that was Bem.
Wunmi doesn't respond.
Linda says he's not coming is he?
The pastor pronounces Adze and Vina as man and wife.
Linda takes her men and they leave.
Riame tells Wunmi that there are 3 toilets in the female convenience and the middle one has a backdoor.
Wumi asks what she's talking about.
Riame says it's plan B and a car awaits her, so she needs to leave right now.
Bem is at the airport standing by a private jet, dressed in all black.
Wunmi arrives in her red dress and runs to him.
He gives her a kiss, takes her hand and they board the jet.
They sit side by side and buckle up their seat belts.
The jet taxies the runway and takes off.
